The Order of the Enduring

Originally The Order, as it is more commonly referred to, was started by a group of activists that were against the genetic testing being performed on animals and people. This was the same testing that created the two other races present now. The wars started; these creations became the new disposable armies. They were grown and distributed via eugenic corporations. The group of activists were being hunted down by these corporations and picked off. They were opening the eyes of the public to what was actually going on, that these disposable soldiers weren't just the biological robots that the corporations said they were. There were just as sentient as any other person. Well their numbers were dwindling and their financial backer was being driven into bankruptcy. A new leader showed up with the promise of making them strong again, but they would have to be willing to do what it took to survive or else they, and everything they stood for, would be wiped out and all their hard work would be for nothing.

At first the members of the Order were a little squeamish about doing what was necessary but eventually they became empowered when a few of these soldiers were liberated when they were at a disposal station. They were all but dead and were to be incinerated. A certain genetic profile was copy rote by a specific corporation and they were closely guarded secrets. Only they didn't realize that the entire raid was a setup and two of the beings were quite healthy and in the night they wiped out most of the raiding party. The survivors captured one of them and brought him back to their headquarters. Once there, the survivors became the prominent sub section of the group and took control. They changed their philosophy to destroying the abominations and their creators to preserve the sanctity of human life.

The organization was restructured and a new hierarchy was developed. Due to the arduous training that all of their soldiers were put through they became known as Clerics. The second branch of the organization took a more political role and used words both spoke and written as their weapons.

Initiate, Chosen, Cleric of the Fifth Order - First Order, Cleric General, Cleric High General, Cleric Commander and Cleric High Commander.

Their rankings are: Initiate, Chosen, Protector, Captain Protector, Lord Protector and Lord Captain Protector.

Now, The Order of the Enduring is a powerful organization dedicated to the preservation of the human race. For them this includes preventing the spread of any sort of physical deformation or genetic defect as well as anything that could be used to cause such things to occur; in other words, technology. Unfortunately, this would also place any sort of physical malady would fall under their scrutiny. There are few in the Heart Cities that have not had a family member or a close friend undergo one of The Order's "Cleansings". A squad, or two, of clerics with, at the very least, a Captain Protector enters a city and over the course of days, or even weeks enters homes and searches for any impure humans. Once they have a sufficient number they are publicly executed and the family names are recorded in a ledger. If a household is found to have three or more unclean over any span of time the heads of that household are cleansed as well. Heart Cities have found it less of a hassle to allow The Order their Cleansings rather than incur the ire of either their political or the military branch.

It is the Order's belief that the Great Purge, the point in time where a massive global catastrophe caused the near extinction of the human race. Also in the same time frame is when the other races that inhabit the world came to be: the Murroch, the Avar and the Mina. All of these races have a basic humanoid form but from their appearances are blatantly not human. These races are the cause of all of the troubles of mankind and should be eradicated. Regrettably, the different races tend to hold key or often undesirable jobs. The Order is content to let them keep the undesirable positions, but any useful vocation they are often driven out of or forced to move to a smaller town or village if they wish to continue the practice. In a best case scenario they move to areas closer to docks, either sea or air, since the immediate areas are controlled by the guilds. This is one of several points where the guilds and The Order clash and is the source of much tension whenever they happen to cross paths.
